@UserUK201 the US is not fascist as we know the term. But You have limited choice when it comes to the leader of your country, it essentially comes down to 2 . Your freedoms are superficial compared to that of some European countries and your politics, policies etc is dominated by religion, most religions being fascist in make up. The founding fathers were clearly in favour of a secular nation but later leaders have hid behind, and championed, right wing christianity.

support our troops means that the american public has graduated from 'support the war' in terms of the meanings drawn from that exact statement. it is very, very slight...almost nonexistent. while support the war shows sympathy for young american soldiers who foolishly signed their life away, it does not show sympathy to the civilians of foreign countries who are butchered by our guys. 'support our troops' marginalizes the magnitude of it all.it's the only statement that we feel 'safe' in making
